Description
Our wonderful returning clients are seeking a dedicated and responsible individual to be their live in dog care taker and property manager for their beautiful vacation home in serene wine country near the town of Healdsburg.
This unique, year-round opportunity provides a fully furnished, private guest house on the property, with all utilities included, in exchange for managing the home and caring for their two beloved dogs when the owners are not in residence.
This position is ideal for one person who is local and immersed in the nearby communities, someone who enjoys the tranquility of being at home. This is perfect for someone who WFH and loves nature and dogs.
Key Responsibilities
The primary focus is the daily care of the two dogs. Owners are typically in residence 1 to 1.5 weeks per month, but this schedule can vary. Advance scheduling will be provided.

Pet Care: Preparing dog food each day: boil chicken and veggies. Daily feeding, walking, play, and general care for two sweet older dogs. 11 and 12 years old

Note: Must be comfortable staying on the property for the majority of the time, as the dogs should not be left alone for longer than 4 hours.

Transporting dogs to vet appointments when needed.

Property & Vendor Management:

Overseeing and coordinating maintenance vendors (landscaper, pool cleaner, general maintenance).

Collecting, organizing, and managing mail and packages.

Standard house oversight (e.g., covering/uncovering outside furniture and cushions).

Light care for the vegetable garden and fruit trees.

Household Support & Errands:

Running general errands and light grocery shopping before the principals arrive.

Airport pick-up and drop-off for principals (a work vehicle is provided for these duties).
Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $50k – $55k per year

Housing: Full-time, rent-free residency in a furnished, private guest house (utilities included).

Note: No pets allowed for the manager. Person must be single

Time Off: 30 days of paid time off per year

Perks: Use of the pool and all outside furniture at leisure.

Requirements

Must be local to Sonoma/wine country and surrounding areas and established in the community
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. -
Clean and valid US driver’s license and pass background check

Prior experience or exceptional comfort level caring for dogs.

Ability to manage responsibilities, anticipate needs, and work without direct daily supervision.

Comfortable living independently in a quiet/rural environment with minimal guests

Must possess your own personal vehicle for non-work-related use.
