Description

We are representing a busy corporate executive who works a hybrid schedule. They are seeking a exceptionally proactive, highly organized Household Assistant to take full ownership of the daily operations, upkeep, and long-term organization of a private residence in Oakland.


Core Focus: Anticipating Needs & Self-Management

Success in this role means the Principal doesn’t have to think about household logistics. You will be expected to:

  • Notice when supplies are running low and order them before they run out.

  • Own a running Done List—reporting on completed tasks

Experience Requirements

4-5 years of experience working in a private home with great references

Educational Requirements

Fluency in English

Qualifications

  • You possess a high level of attention to detail. You notice the small details and take initiative to fix them immediately.

  • Must be completely comfortable with and affectionate toward a small dog.

  • Ability to communicate clearly, and track inventory via digital tools

  • Comfortable with indoor organizing and light outdoor property maintenance (skimming, clearing yard debris, moving boxes).

  • Reliable vehicle, clean driving record, and absolute discretion regarding the Principal’s personal and professional space.


Responsibilities

– Manage daily tidying, dishes, making the bed, and regular laundry.
– Take full ownership of Amazon and online orders—immediate unpacking, breaking down and recycling boxes, and tracking/processing return
– Car maintenance eg. take to carwash, make sure inside is clean
– Proactively track and maintain inventory of everyday essentials, ensuring the home never runs out:

  • Home Goods: Paper towels, toilet paper, hand soap, laundry detergent, Voluspa candles.

  • Beverages & Pet: San Pellegrino, specific wine selections, dog food.

– Handle ad-hoc purchases as needed (e.g., ordering new wine glasses, mason jars, and adding healthy house plants to the space
– Let dog out in backyard, walk, feed
– Perform light skimming between visits from the pool guy. Keep backyard tidy (clearing leaves and branches after windy days).
– Ensure trash and recycling are put out on Wednesdays
– Find and hire vendors eg. reliable pest control service.
– Empty boxes in the shed, organize
– Help hang art pieces and unpacking deliveries
