Description
A warm, lovely family in San Francisco is seeking an experienced, discrete, and loving nanny for their 8-month-old daughter. Responsibilities include all child-related care: planning daily activities and outings, driving to/from activities or accompanying mom to activities, child laundry, light tidying, and washing/sanitizing bottles and pump parts, preparing healthy child-friendly meals and snacks, etc. The family is very private so it’s important to find someone who has previous experience working in high-profile homes and is highly discrete. Mom works remotely from home and enjoys being hands-on with baby, so the nanny should be comfortable working both independently and alongside her.
Ultimately the best person for them is someone who might enjoy a fair share of physical activity – from getting out and walking the San Francisco hills, to chasing baby at the park, to climbing many flights of stairs in their home, to coming along for all the sports they do as a family (swimming, skiing, tennis, etc.). It’s a life on the go with this family, and lots of travel (from packing to flying to driving). And all along the way, this person needs to show up for baby with the same sense of wonder, humor and excitement she exudes. Someone who enjoys fitness and has lots of energy would love this position!
Schedule:
Hours TBD; family can guarantee a minimum of 30 hours (possibly up to 40 hours) with plenty of opportunity for additional evenings, date nights, overnights to get to FT hours
Travel and Overnight flexibility:
Candidates must be willing to travel both domestic (usually shorter trips a few times a year for 3-5 days at a time) and international (usually twice a year up to 1-3 weeks at a time), as well as have flexibility to work evenings/date nights and overnights as needed including occasional Saturdays.
Experience Requirements
- 3 years minimum experience working as a private nanny with excellent verifiable references
Educational Requirements
- Fluency in English
- Fluency in another language is a nice-to-have
Qualifications
- COVID-vaccinated and boosted
- TB and Tdap vaccine
- CPR Certified
- Valid driver with clean record (family can provide household vehicle for work-related driving)
- Must be local to SF or live nearby with long-term experience commuting to the city
- Must be highly discrete and private (ideally not active on social media) + previous experience working with high-profile families in a multi-staffed home
- Experienced with transitioning from baby to toddler years
- Seeking long-term commitment and is hoping to grow with the family
- Warm, personable, and engaging
- Maintains professional boundaries; can “read the room”
- Flexibility to travel both international and domestic
- Must be physically able to climb multiple levels of stairs and finds joy in it (yay, exercise!); home is on a hill and has 5 mini levels of stairs. Candidate must be comfortable going up and down while carrying the child
- Enjoys being outdoors and taking children outside to play daily
Responsibilities
- Actively participate and seek out ways to nurture and promote the child’s development
- Plan age-appropriate activities and outings
- Spending time outdoors and ensuring child gets fresh air daily
- Prepare, wash, sanitize bottles and pump parts
- Prepare child’s meals and snacks
- Driving to/from activities or accompanying mom to activities
- Child laundry
- Assist with developmental transitions (nap schedule, potty training, etc.)
- Light tidying (nursery as well as common/play areas, kitchen)
- Packing child for travel
- Work evenings, date nights, overnights as needed
