A busy family in Mill Valley is seeking an upbeat and proactive Family Assistant to help with household tasks and light childcare for their two kids (ages 9 and 11 years old). Their ideal candidate is someone who is easy to be around, a self-starter, who is experienced with school-age children. Responsibilities include driving the kids from school to activities, homework help, organizing and maintaining a tidy home, family laundry, errands, and cooking (breakfast and lunch for the kids, and a simple dinner for the family).

They’d love to find someone willing to travel with them (typically 3-4 months per year and while they prefer help while in Hawaii they do not need someone to commit to all of this). They usually spend July and August at their second home in Hawaii (they have a guest house with a private bedroom and bathroom), plus a few world cup games!

The best person for them is someone with a can-do attitude and adventurous spirit.

Experience Requirements

• 2 years’ minimum experience working as a Family Assistant with excellent verifiable references

Educational Requirements

• Fluency in English

Qualifications

• COVID-vaccinated
• TB and Tdap vaccine
• CPR Certified
• Valid driver with clean record (family can provide household vehicle for work-related driving or reimburse for mileage if candidate prefers to use their own vehicle)
• Willingness and flexibility to travel preferable
• Comfortable with a cat in the home (no pet care required)
• Easygoing
• Professional
• Experienced with school-age children
• Excellent communication
• Can make at least a year commitment

Responsibilities

• Drop off and pickup kids from school
• Homework help
• Take the kids to their activities
• Make breakfast and pack lunch for the kids
• Maintain a clean, organized household
• Simple cooking for the family
• Running errands (grocery shopping, dry cleaning, etc.)
• Family laundry
