Position: Confident Nanny with Neurodivergent Experience Need FT in San Francisco
Schedule: Monday to Friday 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. during the school year; 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the Summer (TBD based on summer camp schedules)
Salary Amount or Range: $55 – $60/hour D.O.E. + Benefits: full health (100% coverage for employee and dependents), 401k, and PTO

Description
The Nanny is a childcare and/or education specialist working in the family’s home, responsible for all tasks related to the care of the children. The Nanny will serve as a loving, nurturing and trustworthy companion to the children, and be part of a team that keeps the household running with many ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has experience working with neurodivergent children, proven history of respectful caregiving, excellent communication skills, a team mentality, and a minimum of 5 years’ experience.
SCHEDULE:
During the school year: Monday to Friday 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
During the summer: Monday to Friday 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. (hours could shift based on summer camp schedules)
TRAVEL:
Currently travel is local to the Bay Area and approximately 4 weeks per year, but could increase as the children get older.
Experience Requirements
- 5 years minimum experience working as a professional nanny with excellent verifiable references
Educational Requirements
- Fluency in English
- Must have prior experience working with neurodivergent children
- Familiarity with RIE and/or Montessori method
- Bachelor’s degree (ECE background preferred)
- Stays up-to-date on childcare trainings and certifications
Qualifications
- Maintain up to date vaccinations, including COVID-19 vaccine and booster, and without expiration. Proof of up-to-date vaccinations, including COVID-19, to be provided prior to hire date.
- TB and Tdap
- CPR Certified
- Valid driver with clean record (family provides household vehicle for work-related use)
- Completion of the RIE Foundations course (upon hire)
- Maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license
- Bright, industrious, and confident
- Polished and professional
- Experience implementing coping mechanisms and self regulation for children
- Experience working in a multi-staffed home; is a team-player
Additionally:
- Regularly required to talk or hear; effectively communicate with the Children and Company
- Frequently is required to use hands or finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls
- Occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; regularly required to move about the Property
- Occasionally lift, transport, and/or move up to 25 pounds, including up and down multiple flights of stairs in the residence
- Physical ability to care for the Children
Responsibilities
- Create a stimulating, nurturing, and safe environment for the children
- Supervise the children’s activities at all times: home play and organized play
- Support the family during visits to friends’ homes, restaurants, events and other family activities
- Supervise and maintain rest, bed, and nap times
- Assist with bedtime routine including bathing, dressing, reading, and putting the children down when parents are not available
- Monitor resting hours by watching and responding to the children when appropriate
- Support the preparation of the children’s meals and snacks following established guidelines
- Change diapers and facilitate the transition through toddler potty training following RIE principles
- Dress children appropriately for activities including proper footwear and essentials considering weather and location
- Model socially appropriate behavior and excellent manners for the children
- Administer medicine to the children, as necessary as directed
- Maintain the children’s bedroom organization
- Perform housework related to childcare and family meals
- Attention to detail in maintaining a clean environment for the children
- Very occasional as-needed care for two kittens (feeding, litterbox)
