Position: Easygoing Family Assistant who Loves to Cook Needed in Castro Valley (August start)
Schedule: 24-32 hours per week Monday to Thursday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (or can start at 7 a.m. if candidate prefers more hours)
Salary Amount or Range: $40-$45/hour D.O.E. + Standard benefits (paid vacation, sick days, holidays)
Children: 3, 5 and 7 years old + new baby expected late November

Description
A lovely family in Castro Valley is seeking a Family Assistant to help with childcare and household tasks. Their children are 3, 5 and 7 years old and they are expecting a baby in late November. Mom and dad alternate work days so there will always be a parent present to assist with childcare. They love being involved with the kids so are looking for someone who is comfortable with and enjoys household management. Duties include childcare, preparing simple lunches and dinners for the family, light tidying (they have a housekeeper who deep cleans and does all the laundry), running occasional errands, etc.
Someone with a good sense of humor who is confident in the kitchen and adaptable to changes will be the best fit. They would love to find someone who will be with them long-term and grow along with the family.
Experience Requirements
- 2 years minimum experience working as a Family Assistant with excellent verifiable references
Educational Requirements
- Fluency in English
- Fluency in Arabic (nice to have but not required)
Qualifications
- TB and Tdap
- CPR Certified
- Valid driver with clean record (family can provide a household vehicle if driving is needed)
- Flexible regarding tasks and easily adapts to changes
- Easygoing
- Self-starter
- Comfortable partnering with/working alongside parents
- Sense of humor
- Enjoys cooking and meal planning

Responsibilities
- Childcare – filling in where needed / partnering with parents on care
- Preparing simple lunches and dinners for the family
- Light cleanup around the house (family has housekeeper for deep cleaning and laundry)
- Occasional laundry as needed
- Occasionally picking up the kids from school
- Running errands as needed
