Position: Energetic & Trustworthy Family Assistant Needed for Lively Household in Burlingame
Schedule: Monday to Friday 30-35 hours/week in the mornings or afternoons/early evening (family is open to discussing candidate’s preferred schedule)
Salary Amount or Range: $45-$50/hour D.O.E. + Standard benefits (paid vacation, sick days, holidays)
Children: 10-months, 4, and 5 years old
Pets: 1 x large friendly dog (85 lbs)

Description
A family in Burlingame is seeking an energetic, proactive Family Assistant to help their household run smoothly. Their kids are 10-months (girl), 4 (girl), and 5 (boy) years old. Mom (stay-at-home) and dad enjoy being with the children, and the two older kids are in school from 9-3p, but they need someone who can be an extra set of hands as needed. That being said, this person will mostly be responsible for running errands, preparing simple meals for the family, prepping kids’ lunches for the next day, tidying the kids’ bedrooms as well as play spaces and common areas, organizational projects, family laundry, etc.
The best person for them is trustworthy, independent, and feels like part of the family. They have an energetic and upbeat household, so someone who can match their energy and easily keep up will be a good match. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to join a loving family for a few years!
Schedule: The family is open to 30-35 hours/week in the mornings or afternoons/early evening and open to discussing the candidate’s preferred schedule. Flexibility to work occasional weekends and date nights is preferable.
Experience Requirements
- 2 years minimum experience working as a Family Assistant with excellent verifiable references
Educational Requirements
- Fluency in English
Qualifications
- COVID-vaccinated
- TB and Tdap vaccine
- CPR Certified
- Valid driver with clean record (family can provide household vehicle for work-related driving)
- Enjoys variety and each day looking a little different
- Comfortable with a stay-at-home parent and parents who enjoy being involved with the children
- Comfortable with large, friendly dog and some pet care as needed
- Experience caring for infants – elementary ages

Responsibilities
- Be an extra set of hands for childcare as needed – stepping in to watch the baby or engaging with their 4 and 5 year old
- Running errands (grocery shopping, returning packages, dry cleaning, shopping for household essentials, etc.)
- Meal prep / simple cooking for the family
- Preparing kids’ lunches for the next day
- Potentially help with driving the kids to or from school
- Family laundry
- Light tidying (kids’ bedrooms, play areas, common areas); they have weekly cleaners
- Organizing (going through kids’ clothing, rotating/donating toys, pantry, closets, etc.)
- Helping with pet care as needed (walking / feeding the dog)
