A family in Oakland is seeking a nanny for their 6-month-old and 4-year-old children. Their eldest is in preschool full time so care will be primarily for their baby. They’re looking for someone who is amazing with kids and takes initiative to help around the house. Responsibilities include planning activities, helping with transitions and milestones, family laundry, preparing bottles and cooking for the children, and keeping the house tidy.

Ultimately the best person for them is a self-starter who is comfortable taking the lead and is present and engaged with their kids!

Experience Requirements

• 2 years minimum experience working as a nanny with verifiable references

Educational Requirements

• Fluency in English

Qualifications

• COVID-vaccinated + booster
• TB and Tdap vaccine
• CPR Certified
• Valid driver with clean record (family can provide a vehicle for work-related use)
• Pitch in attitude
• Attention to detail
• Experienced with infants to early school-age children
• Self sufficient
• Can take the lead (e.g., on sleep training, rotating/updating clothing, transitioning to solids, etc.)
• Present and engaged
• Gets down at child’s level
• Can make a long term commitment (at least a year, ideally longer)
• Flexible to help out with occasional evenings

Responsibilities

• All child-related care
• Pitch in with household-related tasks (no deep cleaning)
• Plan outings (classes, playgrounds, parks, museums, etc.)
• Driving children to/from school or activities
• Family laundry
• Tidying up / organizing the home
• Washing / preparing bottles
• Meal prep / cooking for the kids
• Light errands as needed
