Description
A family of 5 in Burlingame is seeking a PT Private Chef to prepare organic and farm-to-table lunch, snack and plated / family style dinner. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality meals and food production standards to the family and their occasional guests. The chef should have previous experience working in a private home, be resourceful in creating menus tailored to specific dietary needs, and have diverse experience with a variety of food styles. The best person for them excercises discretion, can offer flexibility, and is overall friendly, positive, and works well with other team members.
PT Schedule 25 hours:
Monday – 6:30am- 1:00pm – 5.5. hours (30 min lunch) = 5.0 hours
Tuesday – 6:30am- 1:00pm – 5.5. hours (30 min lunch) = 5.0 hours
Off – Wednesday
Thursday – 6:30am- 1:00pm – 5.5. hours (30 min lunch) = 5.0 hours
Friday – 6:30am- 1:00pm – 5.5. hours (30 min lunch) = 5.0 hours
Saturday – 6:30am- 1:00pm – 5.5. hours (30 min lunch) = 5.0 hours
Off Sunday
FT schedule: 41 hours
Tuesday 6:30am – 3pm – 8 hours- (less 30 minute lunch)
Wednesday 6:30am- 3:00pm – 8 hours (less 30 minute lunch)
Thursday, 6:30am- 3:00pm – 8 hours
Friday 11am – 8:00pm – 8.5 hours
Saturday 11am – 8:00pm – 8.5 hours
Experience Requirements
● 2 years minimum experience working as a Chef in a private household with excellent verifiable references
Educational Requirements
● Fluency in English
● Food ServSafe certification
Qualifications
● Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
● Fully Covid vaccinated
● Must have experience working in a private home
● Experience cooking for children
● Able to work a flexible schedule depending on the family’s schedule
● Must be able to accommodate the needs of the family willingly; holiday work possible
● Looking for candidates with a GREAT attitude who can interact professionally and pleasantly with the family and other team members.
● Must understand boundaries, be discreet and respect the family’s need for privacy
● Ability to move about the workplace efficiently with care and consideration to noise and spatial awareness
● Excellent communication skills, positive attitude, accept direction and deliver the highest standards to meet the principal’s mealtime needs
● Must be able to travel occasionally
● Resourceful in understanding specific dietary needs
● Diverse experience with a variety of food styles as well as vegetarian
Responsibilities
● Prepare lunch, snack and dinner for family of 5
● Occasional dinner parties
● Prepare a well-balanced array of healthy meals to also include vegetarian options
● Source fresh, local ingredients and high-quality, organic proteins
● Prepare menus a week in advance for approval and changes
● Maintain a clean kitchen to include washing dishes, pots, pans, and work surfaces
● Organize and manage the kitchen/food pantry
