Salary Amount or Range: $37-$40/hour D.O.E. + 2 weeks paid vacation, 5 sick days, 5 paid holidays

Description

A fast-paced busy household in Hillsborough is seeking a seasoned part time nanny to care for their two young boys (2 and 4 years old). Both children are in school (currently their youngest gets out at 11 a.m. and their oldest at 2/3 p.m. with some days ending earlier). They have a nanny who helps with the mornings and getting the children off to school. Duties include picking up the kids from school, driving them to activities, meal prep and cooking kid-friendly meals, children’s laundry, running errands, and organization as well as ad hoc tasks.

Their ideal person is calm and on the quieter side, prioritizes their children’s care, and is an excellent communicator. The best person for them has experience working in fast-moving households and can easily adapt to last minute changes.

The family travels one week per month. They do not need to have the nanny join them, but do require this person to work at the house during their regularly scheduled hours while the family is away. Responsibilities during this time could include a variety of child-related projects and tasks (sorting and updating children’s clothing, organizing children’s toys or closets, cleaning out the car seats/strollers, etc.) as there is always work to be done!

Experience Requirements

• 2 years minimum experience working as a private nanny with excellent verifiable references

Educational Requirements

• Fluency in English

• Fluency in Spanish, French, Armenian, or Italian preferred

Qualifications

• Covid-vaccinated

• CPR Certified

• TB and Tdap vaccine

• Valid driver with clean record (family can provide household car for work-related driving)

• Meeting kids needs as priority

• Calm, quiet, introverted

• Engaging and can easily keep up with two young children under 5 years old simultaneously

• Excellent communication skills (parents are very communicative)

• Comfortable establishing and maintaining boundaries with the children

• Consistent

• Playful

• Respectful

• Experienced with busy households

• Comfortable caring for sick kids

• Proactive in seeking out and accomplishing things that need to be done (especially when family is away)

Responsibilities

• First and foremost prioritizing the children and their wellbeing

• Engaging in and planning activities

• Driving from school to home/activities

• Establishing/maintaining boundaries with the kids

• Running errands

• Coordinating and meal planning for the kids

• Meal/prep cooking child-friendly meals and snacks

• Thoroughly organizing and picking up after the kids

• Making sure kids’ messes are cleaned after meals or activities (including vacuuming and/or mopping if needed)

• Light tidying of play/common areas

• Can use any of their vehicles (several available) all have car seats and live 5 mins from school

• Children’s laundry

• Ad hoc projects while family is away (cleaning out car seats or strollers, getting car cleaned/maintenance, running errands, organizing kids items in closets, playroom, garage, etc. etc.)
