Position: FT Nanny/Family Assistant for Infant in Atherton
Schedule: Monday to Friday 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. (opportunity for more hours with an earlier start time if desired)
Salary Amount or Range: $35-$45/hour D.O.E. + standard benefits (paid vacation, sick days, holidays)
Children: 9 month old; 3 year old who goes to school full-time

A family in Atherton is seeking a proactive, flexible Nanny / Family Assistant. Their girls are 9 months and 3 years old, but care is primarily for the 9 month old baby as their toddler is in preschool full days. Responsibilities include planning activities and working on developmental milestones, picking up/dropping off toddler at preschool, light housekeeping, errands, meal prep, and household organization as needed. Mom works remotely and Dad works from the office most days.
Travel is not required, but preferred as the family typically takes 3-4 weeklong international trips per year as well as a domestic 2-3-day trip every 4-6 weeks.
Experience Requirements
- 2 years minimum experience working as a Nanny / Family Assistant with excellent verifiable references
Educational Requirements
- Fluency in English
- Montessori and/or ECE experience preferred
Qualifications
- COVID-vaccination + at least one booster
- CPR Certification
- TB + Tdap vaccine
- Valid driver with clean record and own car for work-related use (family will reimburse for gas)
- Detail-oriented
- Proactive and takes initiative/ownership of their work
- Montessori and/or ECE background preferred
- Knowledgeable in child development
- Flexibility to travel preferred
- Comfortable with parent working remotely
- Excellent communication skills
- Can make a long term commitment; more than a year ideally
Responsibilities
- Plan engaging, age-appropriate activities geared towards baby’s development
- Light housekeeping (they have weekly cleaners) such as wiping down counters, loading/unloading the dishwasher, picking up after the children, etc.
- Family laundry
- Light meal prep (chop veg, boil rice/pasta, roast)
- Running errands (groceries, dry cleaners, package returns)
- Organizational tasks (closets, pantry) as needed
