Description

A family in San Mateo is seeking a Nanny/Family Assistant to help with childcare and light household tasks. Mom works remotely full-time and dad is a stay-at-home parent. Their children are 5-months (girl) and 3 years (boy) old who is in preschool until 11:30 a.m. Mon-Fri. Duties include driving to activities and school pick-up, partnering with dad and caring for both children as needed, planning activities (parks, playground, museums, etc.), meal prep and cooking for the children, family laundry and light tidying as well as occasional errands.

Their has experience with infants and toddlers, and genuinely loves working with kids and helping the household run smoothly. Someone playful with an educational background who feels like part of the family will be the best fit.

TRAVEL: Flexibility and willingness to travel preferred (family takes vacation here and there throughout the year such as a month in Napa or week in Hawaii). They would love if this person were open to coming with them, but are flexible!

SCHEDULE: Monday to Friday 11 a.m. to 4 or 5 p.m. but the family is open to discussing more hours depending on the candidate’s needs.

Experience Requirements

• 2 years minimum experience working as a private nanny with verifiable references

Educational Requirements

• Fluency in English
• Educational background preferred – ECE credentials, nursing background, familiarity with Montessori, etc.

Qualifications

• CPR Certified
• COVID-vaccinated + booster
• TB and Tdap vaccine
• Valid driver with clean record (family may be able to provide a household vehicle in the future, but presently needs someone open to using their own car; they will reimburse for mileage)
• Flexibility and willingness to travel preferred (family takes vacation here and there throughout the year such as a month in Napa or week in Hawaii). They would love if this person were open to coming with them, but are flexible!
• Experienced with infants and toddlers
• Easygoing; feels like part of the family
• Knowledgeable in child development
• Genuinely loves working with kids and helping the household run smoothly

• Can make at least a year commitment

Responsibilities

• Childcare for both children as needed
• Partner with stay-at-home dad
• Driving to activities / helping with school pick-up
• Help plan age-appropriate activities (parks, playground, museums, story time, etc.)
• Children’s laundry
• Light tidying (children’s bedrooms, common and play areas, kitchen after meals, etc.)
• Meal prep and cooking for the kids
• Assist with baby-led weaning for infant
• Family laundry
