A Bay Area family is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Houseman to maintain and enhance the functionality and aesthetics of their home and grounds. This multifaceted role involves a comprehensive range of routine maintenance, indoor and outdoor cleaning, and specialty tasks to ensure the home and property are always in top condition. This position offers the opportunity to be an integral part of a household team, ensuring that every aspect of the property is not only functional but also a comfortable and inviting space.

  • General Maintenance and Repairs: Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of buildings and grounds. Handle various minor repairs and respond to urgent maintenance calls to prevent damage.
  • Cleaning and Upkeep: Maintain cleanliness of both interior and exterior areas. Perform tasks such as window cleaning, clearing gutters, power washing, and breaking down boxes.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Prepare vehicles for departure and maintain their cleanliness.
  • Pet Care: Assist with pet care tasks as needed, including maintaining litter boxes, bird feeders, and bathing pets.
  • Outdoor Areas and Maintenance: Set up outdoor areas, manage cobwebs, maintain exterior cleanliness, vacuum, sweep, mop, and keep outdoor spaces organized.
  • Household Assistance: Assist housekeeping with various household tasks, ensuring smooth household operations.
  • Storage and Organization: Assemble items, retrieve packages, and handle trash and recycling.


  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in home and property maintenance.
  • Physical capability to perform manual tasks and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable on ladders and safety-conscious at all times.
  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable vehicle are essential.
  • Strict adherence to confidentiality and discretion.
  • Flexibility to work additional hours, including some evenings and weekends as needed for special projects or emergencies.
  • Extremely detail-oriented to ensure all aspects of the grounds and home are maintained to the highest standard.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and strong communication skills to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to a 2-week trial period prior to permanent hiring.
