Position: Gentle Nanny / Family Assistant Needed FT in Los Altos (Waldorf Experience a Plus!!)
Schedule: Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (30 hours/week guaranteed) + flexibility for date nights
Salary Amount or Range: $43-$47/hour D.O.E. + Standard benefits (paid vacation, sick days, holidays)

Description

A family in Los Altos is seeking a gentle, calm Family Assistant to manage household tasks and help care for their children (two boys who are 9-months and 3-years old). Mom is a stay-at-home parent so the Family Assistant will help with one or both children as needed and help with the household when mom is spending time with the kids. Responsibilities include engaging in play and planning local outings, helping with developmental transitions, family laundry, light tidying, preparing simple meals for the family, and running errands as needed.

Their ideal candidate has experience with Waldorf and is familiar with attachment parenting, baby-led weaning, and independent play. Someone professional and easygoing, who is proactive, and genuinely enjoys supporting the household will be the best fit!

Experience Requirements

• 2 years minimum experience working as a private nanny with excellent verifiable references

Educational Requirements

• Fluency in English
• Experience with Waldorf a huge plus

Qualifications

• COVID-vaccinated
• TB and Tdap
• CPR Certified
• Valid driver with clean record with reliable vehicle (family will provide household car for driving the children; for running errands they prefer the candidate use their own vehicle and they will reimburse for mileage)
• Experience with Waldorf a huge plus (familiar with attachment parenting style, no screens, baby-led weaning, and independent play)
• Proactive

• Can make at least a year commitment

Responsibilities

• Caring for on or both children
• Engaging in play
• Planning age-appropriate activities and outings to the local park, library, etc. (most activities are in walking distance)
• Assist with development and routines (baby-led weaning, naps, potty training, etc.)
• When mom is with the children, the FA will manage:
  • General tidying including children’s bedrooms, play areas, common areas, loading/unloading dishwasher, etc. (they have a deep cleaner who comes 2x week)
  • Prepare simple meals for the family
  • Running errands (returns, grocery shopping, etc.)
  • Family laundry
