Position: Highly Organized Career Nanny / Household Manager Needed FT in Atherton
Schedule: Monday to Friday 8/9 a.m. to 5 p.m. + two Saturdays x month 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (flexibility required to work additional hours as needed, especially when traveling)
Salary Amount or Range: $45-$50/hour D.O.E. + Standard benefits, overnight rate, and monthly health stipend (see below for details)

Description
A family in Atherton is seeking a warm, highly organized, and proactive career nanny / household manager. They are hoping to find a long-term nanny/house manager to support their family including care for their two daughters (currently 18 months and 3.5 years old). Right now, there is some overlap with another nanny, but the role will soon transition to full responsibility for both children and they are looking for someone who can grow and evolve as their needs change. The ideal candidate provides excellent childcare while bringing calm, structure, and organization to the home. They value someone who anticipates needs but more than anything they are looking for someone who will become a trusted, long-term part of their family and deeply value the support.
TRAVEL:
Candidates should be flexible and comfortable with traveling, or providing overnight care at their home when the parents are traveling. The nanny is usually needed to travel with them 3-4 times per year with most trips being 10 days max. Trips to England and Brazil are usually two weeks (they have a trip planned for England this summer for 17 days). Hours are extended during travel (sometimes 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and flexibility to adjust hours as needed is key.
BENEFITS:

- Overnight / travel rate ($150-$200/night depending on if the nanny is sharing a room with the children; nanny will be paid hourly if they need to tend to the children during the night)
- $350 monthly contribution towards health insurance
Experience Requirements
- 2 years minimum experience working as a nanny / household manager with excellent verifiable references
Educational Requirements
- Fluency in English
- Fluency in Portuguese (nice to have but not required)
Qualifications
- Current on TB, Tdap and flu vaccine
- CPR Certified
- Valid driver with clean record w/ own vehicle for work related driving (family reimburses for mileage)
- Truly loves children and is warm, positive, and engaging
- Is highly organized and detail-oriented (able to manage schedules, packing for travel, keeping things running smoothly at home)
- Is flexible and comfortable with travel, as they do travel as a family and occasionally need extended hours during those times
- Is proactive and takes initiative, especially in helping manage both childcare and light household organization
- Should be flexible overall
- Comfortable swimming and supervising children in the family’s pool
- Prioritizes children’s well being over everything else
- Willingness and flexibility to adapt and grow with the family as their children get older and needs change
- Is looking for longevity (family will need help for at least the next 4 years)
Responsibilities
- Starting off caring for youngest and overlapping with a nanny who is with them through the end of this year, then care will be for both children
- Including FA tasks once both children start school (youngest will be starting preschool in the mornings in September)
- Engaging in play and planning activities
- Driving to/from school and activities
- Supervising swim / swimming with the children in the pool
- Cooking for the kids
- Taking inventory of the pantry and keeping mom updated for grocery delivery
- Manage schedules for the children
- Packing for travel
- Keeping things running smoothly
- Light household organization
- Child laundry / willingness to pitch in with parent laundry as needed
- Light tidying related to the kids
- Let vendors in / oversee them while they are on the property
- Occasional errands
- Overnights and travel as needed
- Light pet care (nice to have not required)
