Description
A warm, highly engaged multigenerational family in Los Gatos is seeking an exceptional full-time Nanny / Family Assistant to join their household team. This is a unique opportunity for a career childcare professional who thrives in a dynamic, collaborative, and fully staffed environment and enjoys becoming a trusted, long-term partner to a family.
This role focuses on caring for three young children who live together as part of one multigenerational household — a 3.5-year-old, a 19-month-old, and a 14-month-old — while also providing family assistance support and working closely alongside the family’s household staff.
The family is seeking someone warm, energetic, highly organized, discreet, and proactive; someone who genuinely enjoys creating enriching experiences for children, takes ownership of their responsibilities, and understands how to navigate a sophisticated private household with professionalism and grace.
About the Family
The family lives in Los Gatos and is part of a close-knit multigenerational family structure. While each family maintains its own residence, much of daily life takes place together at a shared family property where grandparents, siblings, cousins, and household staff are actively involved.
The children are being raised alongside their cousin, and the successful candidate will work collaboratively not only with the family’s current nanny, but also with other caregivers and family members who play an active role in the children’s lives.
The family operates in a fast-paced professional environment and values efficiency, communication, teamwork, and discretion. One family member is a well-known public figure, making confidentiality and professionalism especially important.
The household is fully staffed, and the ideal candidate understands how to work successfully as part of a larger team while maintaining clear professional boundaries and excellent communication.
The Ideal Candidate
The family is looking for a true career nanny—someone who views childcare as a profession and takes pride in helping children learn, grow, and thrive.
The ideal candidate is:
- Warm, engaging, and nurturing while maintaining appropriate boundaries
- High-energy, athletic, and physically capable of keeping up with active young children
- A confident swimmer who enjoys being in the water with children
- Naturally proactive and self-directed
- Organized, detail-oriented, and dependable
- Emotionally intelligent and socially aware
- Comfortable working in a fully staffed household
- Able to “read the room” and understand when to step in and when to step back
- Excited to travel and adapt to changing environments
- Professional, discreet, and respectful of family privacy
- Flexible and willing to assist wherever needed
The family appreciates a grounded, practical approach to childcare and is seeking someone who focuses on age-appropriate childhood development, learning, exploration, and play.
The family spends significant time together, and there are often grandparents, parents, cousins, nannies, and staff members present throughout the day.
Success in this role requires someone who genuinely enjoys being part of a collaborative environment and who can confidently navigate multiple personalities and moving parts. This is an outstanding opportunity for a professional nanny/family assistant seeking a long-term role with a warm, involved family that values teamwork, loyalty, professionalism, and excellence in childcare.
Travel
Travel is an important component of this position.
