Description

Part-Time Private Chef (3 Days/Week)
Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday | 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM (15 hours/week) Flexible on other 3 days too

A busy, professional household of four (2 adults, twin 7 year old children) are seeking a skilled, reliable Part-Time Private Chef to manage their weekly dinners and family meal prep. The ideal candidate will handle everything from menu planning and grocery shopping to cooking, family-style service setup, and complete kitchen clean-up.

The schedule relies on a cook-ahead strategy: meals prepared on Monday and Thursday must yield enough high-quality leftovers for the family to enjoy on Tuesday and Friday.

Key Responsibilities

Menu Planning & Shopping: Coordinate weekly menus based on family preferences. Handle all grocery shopping (typically from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM on work days).
Meal Preparation: Arrive at the home by 2:00 PM to begin prep. Cook fresh, nutritious dinners to be ready for family-style service by 5:30 PM.
Batch & Extra Prep: Cook with intention so that Monday’s meal covers Tuesday, and Thursday’s covers Friday. As time permits, prepare simple breakfast items (e.g., overnight oats, chia pudding) or healthy snacks for the children (e.g., chopped vegetable sticks and dips).
Kitchen Stewardship: Maintain a meticulously clean and sanitized workspace. Pack and clear leftovers, wash all dishes/pots used during prep, set the table for family self-service, and leave the kitchen spotless before departing at 6:00 PM.

Cuisine & Dietary Preferences

Styles: Diverse, flavorful family cooking focusing on Asian, Mediterranean, Italian, and Mexican cuisines.
Ingredients: Strong preference for cooking with high-quality olive oil or avocado oil (standard oils are fine for baking).
Restrictions: No pork.
Allergies: One family member has an oral allergy to avocado and stone fruits. These ingredients are acceptable to use but must be kept and served strictly on the side.

Educational Requirements

Culinary degree preferred

Qualifications

Minimum 2 + years of consistent, professional private chef or high-end culinary experience.
Verifiable, stellar references from past employers or clients.
Strong organizational skills—must be able to independently manage timing, grocery budgeting, and clean-up within the 5-hour daily block.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and pass a comprehensive background check (including criminal and driving history).
