Salary Amount or Range: $35-$38/hour D.O.E. (standard benefits: paid vacation, sick days, holidays)

Description

Start: between now and January (some flexibility to start later in January)

A family in North Berkeley (close to Albany) is seeking a loving, active FT nanny to help care for their two children (4-month-old baby girl and 3-year-old boy). Care is primarily for their daughter as their son is in preschool from 8:30a-4p. Duties includes newborn care and some toddler-wrangling, as well as light tidying, children’s laundry and light meal prep for their son.

The best person for them speaks fluent Spanish, Hindi or Urdu, is punctual, outdoorsy, and engaging!

Experience Requirements

• 2 years minimum experience working as a private nanny with excellent verifiable references

Educational Requirements

• Fluency in English
• Fluency in Spanish, Hindi or Urdu (strongly preferred)

Qualifications

• Fully COVID-vaccinated including booster
• CPR Certified
• TB and Tdap vaccines
• Valid driver w/ clean driving record and personal vehicle for work-related driving (family will reimburse for mileage)
• Spanish, Hindu or Urdu-speaking (toddler is fluent and they don’t want him to lose the language!)
• Punctual and reliable
• Consistent with children’s schedules
• Enaging
• Great at planning activities
• Outdoorsy
• Safety-oriented
• Nurturing
• Knowledge of developmental milestones
• Comfortable caring for two siblings
• Seeking a long term commitment (at least a year, ideally longer)

Responsibilities

• Help with newborn/toddler care
• Feed baby, change diapers
• Speak Spanish, Hindi or Urdu to the children
• Engaging in age-appropriate play and activities
• Children’s laundry
• Light tidying (organizing nursery, common areas, kitchen after meals, picking up toys, clean and vacuum playroom)
• Empty diaper pail
• Wash bottles
• Light cooking/meal prep for toddler
