Position: Nurturing Proactive FT Nanny Needed in Mill Valley
Schedule: Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Salary Amount or Range: $40-$45/hour D.O.E. + Standard benefits (paid vacation, sick days, holidays) + health stipend
Children: 3-year-old boy and baby expected in 2026
Pets: 2 x Golden Retrievers

Description

A family in Mill Valley is seeking an intuitive, pitch-in nanny to care for their 3-year-old son and baby arriving next year. They are looking for a great long-term fit with someone who can flex to fit their family’s needs over time. Responsibilities include working through developmental milestones and planning engaging activities, driving to/from school, child laundry, preparing simple meals for the kids, light tidying and organizing. They will also need light household management as a second priority when children are asleep or at school including running errands, meal prep for the family dinner, and occasional vacuuming as they have two friendly Golden Retrievers.

The best person for them is warm, nurturing, and experienced with ages newborn to elementary. Someone trustworthy, reliable and organized will be the best fit. This is a great opportunity for someone looking for longevity who would love to grow with the family.

Experience Requirements

• 2 years’ minimum experience working as a nanny / family assistant with excellent verifiable references
• Experience working with newborns to elementary-age children

Educational Requirements

• Fluency in English
• Fluency in Spanish (nice to have; mom speaks Spanish)

Qualifications

• COVID-vaccinated + boosted
• TB and Tdap
• CPR Certified
• Valid driver with clean record with reliable vehicle for work-related driving (family will reimburse for mileage)
• Comfortable with dogs
• Trustworthy and responsible
• Organized
• Can-do attitude and willing to pitch in
• Warm, nurturing, intuitive and genuinely loves working with children
• Comfortable with a growing family and caring for multiple children; experienced with newborns to school-age children

Responsibilities

• Working through developmental stages
• Driving to/from school and activities
• Planning engaging, age-appropriate things to do
• Prioritizing care for the child(ren)
• Household management and maintenance as a second priority when children are asleep or at school:
  • Children’s laundry
  • Organizing kids’ toys
  • Cleaning out / sorting children’s clothing
  • Tidying children’s bedrooms, play areas, common spaces, kitchen
  • Simple cooking for the kids
  • Simple meal prep for family dinner (chopping veg, etc.)
  • Running vacuum occasionally
  • Running errands such as grocery shopping, dry cleaning, stocking household essentials, etc.
