Description

A family in North Beach is seeking an organized detail-oriented family assistant to provide childcare and help with household tasks. Their son is 6-years-old and attends school in the Mission. He is energetic, and loves reading, drawing, and playing outside. Responsibilities include driving to/from school and activities, engaging in play, household organization, running errands, managing the groceries and stocking the fridge/pantry, simple meal prep, family laundry, and light tidying.

Their ideal candidate is great at managing their son’s routines, easily anticipates the needs of the household, is consistent, and comfortable setting boundaries. Someone playful and warm who enjoys being active will be the best fit.

Preferred Schedule (28 hours/week; could potentially flex up to 30 hours):
Monday/Wednesday 7am-8am + 4pm-5:30pm
Friday 7am-8am + 4pm-5pm
Tuesday/Thursday 7am-5:30pm

Alternative Schedule (25 hours/week):
Monday/Wednesday afternoons 4pm-5:30pm
Friday afternoon 4pm-5pm
Tuesday/Thursday 7am-5:30pm

Experience Requirements

• 2 years minimum experience working as a family assistant with excellent verifiable references

Educational Requirements

• Fluency in English
• Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese preferable

Qualifications

• COVID-vaccinated + current on booster and flu preferred
• TB and Tdap
• CPR Certified
• Valid driver with clean record and reliable vehicle for work-related driving (family will reimburse for mileage/gas and provide a parking permit)
• Good at managing routines
• Can easily anticipate the needs of the family / house
• Comfortable walking up/down stairs and in a hilly neighborhood
• Enjoys being outdoors and going to the park
• Consistent
• Organized
• Comfortable setting boundaries with children; kind but firm
• Can make a long term commitment; at least a year

Responsibilities

• Childcare
• Driving to/from school and activities
• Engaging in play; outings at the local park
• Family laundry
• Organizing (kids’ clothing and toys, pantry, closets, etc.)
• Managing groceries (stocking, shopping)
• Running errands (dry cleaning, returning packages)
• Simple meal prep
• Light tidying (they have deep cleaners come once a week)
