A family in Pac Heights is seeking an organized, collaborative Family Assistant to help with household tasks and childcare for their two girls (7 and 10 years old). Mom is a stay-at-home parent and enjoys spending time with the kids but needs someone who is a team player to help with childcare as needed. Their children are fairly independent, are involved in sports (soccer, dance, tennis), love to sing, and get along well. They’re typical, fun-loving kids!
They are looking for someone who can help keep their home running smoothly by keeping up with household organization, running errands, meal prep and cooking for the family, family laundry, tidying and light pet care. The best person for them is great at home organization, a go-getter, calm and engaging.
SCHEDULE: The family is pretty flexible with the schedule and can guarantee 20-40 hours depending on the candidate’s preference. They do prefer someone with flexibility to help with some afternoons to cover after school care (2 p.m. to 7 p.m.) as it would be super helpful. Flexibility to help with occasional weeknight babysitting and overnights if both parents are away is important.
Experience Requirements
- 3 years minimum experience working as a Family Assistant with excellent verifiable references
Educational Requirements
- Fluency in English

- Valid driver with clean record (family can provide household car for work-related driving)

- Flexibile to occasionally stay late or do overnights

- Has longevity in past positions and is looking for a long-term commitment (ideally a few years)
Responsibilities
- Unpack backpacks from school
- Prepping kids for activities (sports equipment, snacks, etc.)
- Partner with mom on childcare (watch one while mom takes other to an activity, or plan an outing/activity with the girls)
- House organization: organizing closets, cabinets, drawers, mud room, kids’ areas
- Light cleaning
- Running errands
- Coordinating vendors
- Kid/Family laundry
- Grocery shopping
- Keep fridge and pantry tidy, unload/load dishwasher
- Meal prep
- Pack children’s snacks (one child has a peanut allergy)
- Cooking for the family preferred (ideally a few nights per week)
- Light pet care
- Occasional weeknight babysitting or weekend overnights
