Description
We are representing a family in seeking a polished, experienced Housekeeper to join a close-knit team of three in a stunning private residence. This is a long-term opportunity for someone who takes genuine pride in their craft and is passionate about maintaining a beautiful home.
The ideal candidate will integrate seamlessly with a family of two, a baby on the way (due mid-October), two cats, and the existing team. We are looking for a discreet, proactive individual who brings warmth and professionalism to their work every day. This role requires a person who can anticipate needs, take initiative, and contribute to the smooth, graceful operation of the household.
The home is a large, multi-story private residence of approximately 15,000 square feet, featuring high-end architectural finishes, luxury fixtures, custom millwork, fine furniture, and curated art. This is a refined, detail-oriented environment where standards are high and discretion is essential. The ideal candidate will take genuine pride in the care of a beautiful home and will thrive in a professional, well-organized household setting.
Experience
- Five or more years of experience in high-end private properties (10,000+ sq ft preferred).
- Proven track record of longevity in previous roles.
- Demonstrated experience caring for luxury materials: marble, hardwood, brass, fine upholstery, silk, cashmere, and specialty metal
- Excellent, verifiable references from previous employers.
- Longevity in prior roles strongly preferred.
Educational Requirements
Fluency in English
Qualifications
Strongly Preferred
- Experience in a household with a newborn or young children, with familiarity with safe, non-toxic cleaning product protocols.
- Familiarity with household management software or digital communication tools (Nines and shared task lists).
- Currently residing within 25 miles of Pacific Heights, San Francisco.

Responsibilities
Daily Housekeeping
- Perform comprehensive daily cleaning of all areas, including living spaces, bedrooms, kitchens, wellness room, and bathrooms.
- Execute deep cleaning on a rotating schedule to maintain the home to the highest standards.
- Ensure all surfaces, fixtures, and furnishings are spotless and well-maintained.
- Dust and polish furniture, including outdoor furniture, fixtures, and decorative items.
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, soaking tubs, showers, and bathtubs.
- Wipe down and disinfect kitchen surfaces, appliances, and countertops.
- Organize and tidy living areas, bedrooms, and common spaces.
Laundry and Garment Care
- Sort, wash, dry, fold, and iron clothing and household linens with expert care.
- Handle delicate fabrics and garments following proper laundering techniques.
- Manage wardrobe organization and seasonal rotation as needed.
- Keep track of laundry inventory, including detergents and supplies.
Specialty Surface Care
- Care for specialty surfaces including marble, hardwood, antiques, and other household items.
- Use appropriate cleaning products and techniques for each material.
- Identify and report maintenance issues before they become problems.
Organization and Preparation
- Organize closets, pantries, and storage areas to maintain order and accessibility.
- Support entertaining preparation and cleanup, including table setting and post-event restoration.
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries.
Errands and Additional Tasks
- Occasionally run household errands as needed, including dry cleaning pickup and drop-off and small grocery runs (e.g., milk, eggs, fruit)
- Care for and clean up after cats. Must be comfortable with cats and have no allergies.
Inventory and Supply Management
- Monitor, restock, and organize cleaning supplies and household consumables as requested.
- Assist the House Manager with managing pantry and food supplies.
Guest and Event Support
- Prepare guest suites and ensure a welcoming, comfortable environment for visitors.
- Assist with event setup, furniture arrangement, and post-event cleanup for gatherings.
Safety, Security, and Maintenance
- Follow basic home security procedures, including locking up and setting alarms at the end of each shift.
- Handle emergencies quickly, following established safety protocols.
- Inspect the house regularly to spot maintenance issues early and identify and report problems before they escalate.
- In collaboration with the House Manager, prepare areas and coordinate access for repairmen or suppliers.
- As needed, guide vendors and service providers to ensure safety during their work.
Technology and Communication
- Use communication and productivity tools such as G Suite, Nines, and other apps and tools as requested.
- Navigate other smart home systems to support daily operations
Skills
- Strong knowledge of luxury materials and proper care techniques.
- Proficiency in laundry and garment care, including ironing and steaming.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with organizational systems, such as the 5S method (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain), is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of specialist cleaning products and when to use them (e.g., stone sealers and pH-neutral cleaners).
