Salary Amount or Range: $40-$45/hour D.O.E. + Standard benefits (paid vacation, sick days, holidays)

Description

A family of three in the Outer Sunset is looking for a warm, dependable, proactive nanny / family assistant. This is a multifaceted role supporting two young children (1.5-year-old girl and 3-year-old boy) and the day-to-day running of the home. The heart of the position is building a meaningful, long-term relationship with the kids while also taking ownership of household responsibilities that help the family run smoothly. Duties include running errands, grocery shopping, preparing simple dinners, general tidying/clean-up, kids’ laundry, occasional school pick-up, and daily childcare including help with the bath/bedtime routine.

Their family experienced a significant loss last year, so they’re hoping to find someone who is compassionate, emotionally mature, and comfortable supporting a home where feelings are welcomed with honesty and care. They value someone who can become a trusted, steady presence in the children’s lives and an important part of the family.

Experience Requirements

• 2 years minimum experience working as a nanny / family assistant with excellent verifiable references

Educational Requirements

• Fluency in English

Qualifications

• TB and Tdap vaccine
• CPR Certified
• Valid driver with clean record and reliable vehicle (family will reimburse for mileage)
• Loves building long-term relationships with children
• Is warm, playful, calm, and emotionally attuned
• Is dependable, trustworthy, and takes pride in their work
• Is organized and naturally proactive
• Is comfortable balancing childcare with household responsibilities
• Has excellent judgment and can work independently without constant direction
• Comfortable with big emotions / feelings
• Loving but firm; can hold boundaries with kids
• Can make at least a year commitment

Responsibilities

• Run errands
• Grocery shop
• Pick the children up from daycare several afternoons/evenings each week
• Engage the children in age-appropriate play, activities, and outings
• Clean up kitchen post dinner and light tidying of common spaces
• Help keep the children’s spaces, toys, and belongings organized
• Kids laundry
• Prepare simple, healthy family meals and snacks
• Help with dinner, bath, bedtime, and evening routines
• Communicate with vendors on occasion
