We are representing a family in seeking a full time chef to join their team. This is a unique opportunity to be a vital contributor to a wonderful family’s daily lives and a member of an outstanding and dedicated team. This semi-formal family consists of a young couple and three children ages 3, 5 and 7 and is located on the peninsula.
This role will change as the family’s needs grow. The goal is for the Chef to holistically manage the family’s day to day and special occasion food needs by incorporating quality ingredients using primarily organic foods which are in season whenever available.
The family will count on you to educate the kids on healthy eating, introduce some new food they will love and also do some cooking projects with them from time to time.
You will report to the Estate Manager:
Working hours will be flexible to fit the family’s below needs but have typically been Monday through Friday 7am-3pm 4 days per week and one day 12- 9pm. Additionally brunch or dinner at a minimum of twice monthly on a weekend day.
One plated date night dinner weekly
- 7:15am breakfast 4 days a week
- Nightly dinners ready for reheating (family style) 3 nights a week
- Daily informal lunches for Mom and kids if not in school, fresh and plated
- Meals made on Friday for reheating on the weekend
- Occasional plated dinners for friends and extended family, to be planned in advance
- Healthy snacks ready and available
- Coffee service and light snacks for business meetings at home or guests visiting, to be planned in advance.
Experience Requirements
Previous experience as a Chef, a minimum of 3 years or more with stellar references
Experience working in a multi-staffed private home
Ability to be flexible and prioritize needs on short notice
Enjoy and thrive in a family environment
Be well versed on nutrition and a wide variety of cuisines
Must consent to a background check

Culinary Degree
Qualifications
Experience cooking a variety of cuisines and able to accommodate different palates. The Mrs. does not eat pork, husband does.
Love Asian, South Asian cuisine as well as other regional cuisines
Able to source very fresh and the high quality ingredients (nothing frozen)
Farm to table, real sugar
No convenience foods
Responsibilities
- Weekly meal planning
- Send weekly menu to principals on Friday’s for the coming week
- Grocery shopping at quality stores, online and Instacart when needed
- Cooking on site at a secondary residence and dropping off at the main residence and/or cooking onsite at the main residence.
- Available for dinners and events as needed, to be planned in advance
- Responsible for checking expiry dates on all pantry, refrigerator and freezer foods
- Ability to display a light and quiet footprint when inside the residences
- Log food macros in an app for calorie and nutrient tracking
- Meal planning and coordination with hotels for the principal while on travel
