Position: Personable Proactive Family Assistant Needed in Los Altos [FILLED]
Schedule: Monday to Friday 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. (can guarantee 25-30 hours per week depending on candidate’s preference)
Salary Amount or Range: $40-$45/hour D.O.E. + Standard benefits (paid vacation, sick days, holidays)

Description
A family in Los Altos is seeking a personable, engaging Family Assistant to help with household tasks and light childcare for their two boys, ages 13 and 17 years old. Their youngest loves playing the saxophone and takes karate classes while their oldest is busy working on college applications and playing football. Responsibilities include driving the boys to activities, meal planning and preparing dinner for the family, tidying up (not heavy cleaning), running errands, and children’s laundry. They’d love to find someone who enjoys taking initiative and is looking for career growth as they would love to find someone who will feel like part of the family and continue working with them even after their boys get older. The best person for them is responsible, proactive, friendly and warm.
Experience Requirements
- 2 years minimum experience working as a Family Assistant with excellent verifiable references
Educational Requirements
- Fluency in English
- Fluency in Spanish (nice-to-have)
Qualifications
- COVID + booster
- CPR Certified
- Valid driver with clean record and reliable vehicle for work-related driving (their eldest will be getting his license soon and be using the household car, so someone who has their own vehicle is preferred; family will reimburse for gas)

Responsibilities
- Simple meal planning
- Grocery shopping
- Preparing dinner for the family 4 nights per week on average
- Washing dishes, loading/unloading dishwasher
- Children’s laundry
- Driving teens to activities
- Overseeing some activities (music lessons, etc.)
- Tidying up (not heavy cleaning)
- Running errands (e.g. drop off dry cleaning, pick up school supplies, stock the home, etc.)
- Helping the boys stay on top of their responsibilities and encouraging their independence
- Some flexibility for additional ad hoc tasks like organization
