Position: Positive and Active PT Nanny for 4-year-old in Portola Valley
Schedule: Monday-Thursday 2 p.m.-5:30 p.m. and Friday 11:45 a.m.-5:30 p.m. (20 hours per week guaranteed)
Salary Amount or Range: $35-$40/hour D.O.E. + standard benefits (paid vacation, sick days, holidays)

A loving family in Portola Valley is seeking a positive, reliable Nanny for their almost 4-year-old boy who will be starting Pre-K. Their son is active and bright, and loves the outdoors, exploring nature, playing soccer, reading, building and arts and crafts! Their ideal candidate can easily keep up with an active preschooler, genuinely enjoys participating in imaginary play and being outside, and is great at planning indoor and outdoor activities. Responsibilities include pick-up from preschool, preparing kid-friendly lunches and dinners, child’s laundry and light tidying. Ultimately the best person for them follows a positive approach to discipline and is experienced with supporting young children with emotional development.

    Experience Requirements

    • Minimum 2 years experience working as a private nanny with excellent verifiable references

    Educational Requirements

    • Fluency in English
    • Fluency in Tagalog is a nice-to-have but not required


    • Covid-vaccinated + boosted
    • CPR Certified
    • Tb and Tdap
    • Valid driver with clean record preferably with reliable vehicle for picking up their son from school (5-minute drive from their home)
    • Likes & is capable of athletic & imaginary play, including age-appropriate activity planning
    • Skilled at using play and silliness as a motivator
    • Positive discipline approach and experience in healthy emotional development coaching
    • Patient
    • Passionate about childcare and learning
    • Shares their child’s love for the outdoors and nature
    • Can make at least a year commitment


    • Driving / picking up from PreK at 2 p.m. (school is a 5-minute drive from the house)
    • Engaging in fun, age-appropriate indoor/outdoor activities (park, playground, hiking, arts & crafts, reading, building blocks, etc.)
    • Light tidying
    • Prepare health kid-friendly dinners and pack lunch for school the next day
    • Child’s laundry
