Description

A family based in Noe Valley and Sea Ranch, CA is seeking a loving, engaging nanny for their two children, ages 3 months (girl) and 3.5 years old (boy). Responsibilities include childcare, children’s laundry, preparing bottles/cooking for the children, dish washing and light tidying, and driving one or both children to weekend activities in San Francisco or Sea Ranch.

Their ideal candidate has experience working with infants and toddlers (separately and together), is proactive, reliable, low drama, ready to pitch in with a busy household, and ready to jump into any activity.

SCHEDULE:

• Option 1: Saturdays and Sundays, typically 1pm-9pm, but the family may adjust schedule with notice.
  • This schedule will occasionally include one weekend per month Friday 6pm – Monday 9am (lodging included). The long weekend could be in SF or Sea Ranch – the hours will vary but will likely require 24/7 coverage. They will provide mileage reimbursement for travel to Sea Ranch. Must be willing to travel to Sea Ranch for summer weekends and occasional weekends throughout the year (Friday evening through Monday morning). The family will give a few weeks notice for the full weekend.
• Option 2: Thursdays 8a-6p, Fridays 8a-9p, and Saturdays 11a-7p

TRAVEL:
The family will be in Sea Ranch every weekend from Mid-June to early August. Fall is mostly spent in SF with occasional weekends in Sea Ranch. Lodging will be provided when in Sea Ranch. Willingness to do weeklong travel in the Fall/Winter is an added bonus but not required.

Experience Requirements

• 2 years minimum experience working as a private nanny with excellent verifiable references

Educational Requirements

• Fluency in English
• Fluency in Spanish nice to have but not required

Qualifications

• COVID-vaccinated + booster preferred
• TB and Tdap vaccine
• CPR Certified
• Valid driver with clean record and reliable vehicle for commuting to/from work (family will usually be able to provide a car for work-related driving, but candidate should be willing and able to use their own car as needed; they will reimburse for mileage)
• Prior experience working with infants and toddlers, separately and together
• Proactive
• Reliable (it’s really important to have someone dependable for the weekends)
• Low drama
• Ready to pitch in with the busy household, and ready to jump into any activity
• Must be willing to travel to Sea Ranch during summer weekends and commit to one full weekend per month. Family will give at least 4 weeks notice for full weekend
• Candidate should be comfortable with parents working at home and one friendly 20 pound dog
• Toddler is active so someone comfortable going outdoors and engaging in activities with both kids in tow
• Calming presence but energetic enough to keep up with young kids
• Can make at least a 1-year commitment, ideally longer

Responsibilities

• Engaging with one/both children
• Planning fun, educational activities
• Driving children to/from activities
• Prepare, wash and sanitize bottles
• Prepare solids for baby (when ready to transition) as well as meals and snacks for their toddler
• Children’s laundry
• Light tidying (children’s rooms, common/play areas, kitchen/dining area after meals, load/unload dishwasher, etc.)
• Pet care (only during the full weekend once a month): feeding the dog breakfast and dinner + walking (dog has access to backyard)
