Description

A family in Lafayette is seeking a part time trusted nanny for their 5-month-old son. Responsibilities include planning age-appropriate activities geared towards their son’s development, bottle/meal prep, assisting with developmental transitions (solids, nap schedules, etc.), baby laundry and light housekeeping duties (tidying the nursery and common/play areas, etc.), as well as walking their dog in the front yard which is fenced in. Their ideal candidate is a great resource for support, suggestions and questions, feels like part of the family, and is warm and genuine.

The family has flexibility with the schedule and can offer 24 hours per week (6-hour days, 4 x week). Their suggested schedule is Monday – Thursday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. but they are open to discussing what works best for the nanny.

Experience Requirements

  • 2 years minimum working as a private nanny with excellent verifiable references

Educational Requirements

  • Fluency in English
  • Fluency in Spanish nice-to-have but not required

Qualifications

  • COVID-vaccinated
  • TB and Tdap vaccinated
  • CPR Certified
  • Valid driver with clean record (family can provide vehicle for work-related driving)
  • Great fit, feels like part of the family
  • Is a great resource for support and questions
  • Comfortable with dogs + ability to walk/take care of dogs is preferred
  • Willingness / flexibility to occasionally travel in the future (nice to have)
  • Prior experience working with children aged 5-months +
  • Reliable

  • Can make at least a year commitment

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate and seek out ways to nurture and promote the child’s development
  • Plan age-appropriate activities and outings
  • Prepare, wash and sanitize bottles
  • Prepare child’s meals and snacks once they transition to solids
  • Child laundry
  • Assist with developmental/travel transitions (nap schedule, solids, etc.)
  • Light tidying (nursery as well as common/play areas and kitchen)
  • Light pet care for dog (taking along for a walk in the fenced-in yard)
