Description

We are representing a young professional couple in seeking an exceptionally high-energy, proactive, and reliable individual to join their family as a combined Household Assistant and dedicated Dog Care Specialist. This role is crucial for managing the smooth operation of our two-level home while providing expert, compassionate care for our two 17-week-old Havanese puppies.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who thrives in a dynamic environment, is comfortable with the demands of puppy care (including frequent stairs and active play at the park), and can strictly adhere to guidance from the dogs’ professional trainer.
  • Location: San Francisco near Dolores Park
I. Dedicated Dog Care Responsibilities (Approx. 60%)
The primary focus is the consistent care, supervision, and active management of the two Havanese puppies.
  • Active Puppy Management: Provide constant supervision and engage in high-energy play, including walks to nearby park, picking dogs up and running around with them.
  • Training & Adherence: Strictly follow the instructions and methods of the dogs’ professional trainer, who visits once per week. This includes how to interact with the dogs, reinforce positive behavior, and maintain consistency.
  • Feeding & Routine: Manage feeding schedules and ensure fresh water is available at all times.
  • Doggy Daycare Management: Prepare the puppies for the shuttle pick-up and drop-off to doggy daycare and ensure they are safely transported to the designated area.
  • Health & Wellness: Monitor the puppies’ health, report any concerns immediately.
II. Family Assistant & Household Management (Approx. 40%)
Responsibilities focus on general upkeep and organizational support to maintain a clean, tidy, and well-stocked home.
  • Household Upkeep & Cleaning:
    • Vacuuming and general floor cleaning.
    • Dishes (loading/unloading dishwasher).
    • General tidying and organization around the home.
    • Laundry (washing, drying, and folding family clothing and linens).
  • Stocking & Errands:
    • Grocery Shopping (in-store or curbside pick-up).
    • Restocking essential supplies (e.g., toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies) to prevent shortages.
    • Handling garbage and recycling disposal (taking trash bins out).
  • Note: This role does NOT require cleaning toilets, showers, or deep cleaning of bathrooms.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Experience: Proven, professional experience caring for puppies or high-energy dogs, preferably in a home setting.
  • Energy Level: Must possess a naturally high energy level, the physical stamina, and capability to handle the demands of two active puppies, including frequent stair use and running.
  • Reliability: Must be extremely reliable and punctual for a 9:00 AM start time, Monday-Friday.
  • Transportation: Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license. On-site driveway and garage parking are available.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable reporting daily activity logs and immediate concerns.
  • Commitment: A genuine love for dogs and a commitment to their well-being, safety, and training consistency.
