Description
Title: Head Housekeeper
Location: Pacific Heights, San Francisco
Home: Formal multi staffed home- 50,000 sq ft.
Compensation: $60-$65/hr, full medical and 401k options. PTO, paid holidays and sick days
Schedule: Full-time position Monday-Friday, 40+ hours per week. When the principal is in residence it is 8am to approx. 8pm (can be earlier/later depending on when dinner is served), When the principal is out of town it is 8am to 5pm. Overtime required when the Principal is in residence (about four-five times per year, for approx. 4 weeks per visit)
Duties: This position will be in charge of the current 2 cleaning staff to provide complete cleaning of the home, personal laundry and household linens, ironing sheets & linens, preparing simple meals or food prep, occasionally feeding 3 small dogs when the Principal is home. As well as care for all fine silver, china, crystal, antiques. This position is hands-on working alongside current cleaning staff and directing them. The principals adult daughter lives in the home with an assistant.
Requirements: The ideal Candidate will have extensive long-term experience working in large, high-end, multi-staffed homes. They must have good people skills, good team skills while at the same time be able to lead the housekeeping department. Must be familiar with formal table service and be familiar with proper table setting with fine linens and china. The principal does minimal entertaining but does have the occasional guest and family get-togethers. For larger events, catering staff are brought in, and this candidate would be responsible for coordinating with them with regard to the house. Must have experience and knowledge of how to clean and care for special fabrics, carpets, surfaces in the home. Must be comfortable with overtime and working holidays.
This position replaces a retiring housekeeper who has worked for the principal for 31 years and has a warm relationship with the family and we are looking to make a gentle transition from familiar to new so they fit well with the team.
Experience Requirements
The ideal Candidate will have extensive long-term experience working in large, high-end, multi-staffed homes, be familiar with formal table service, and have strong communication skills. Must be a team player who is able to work well with other staff and must be comfortable with overtime and working holidays.
