Position: Seasoned Family Assistant Needed in San Carlos
Schedule: 30 hours/week guaranteed Monday-Friday 12-6pm (potential for more hours if family can delegate more household tasks)
Salary Amount or Range: $50-$55/hour D.O.E. + Standard benefits (paid vacation, sick days, holidays)
Children: 8 and 12 years old
Pets: 1 x large 95-lb dog

Description
A busy dual-career family in San Carlos is looking for a reliable, proactive Family Assistant. Their kids are 8 (girl) and 12 (boy) years old and fairly independent. THey need someone organized and self-directed who can run point on household logistics. Responsibilities include transportation for school pick-ups and afterschool activities, vendor coordination, running errands, dog care (he’s a big boy), general household tidying/organization, and light meal prep.
The best person for them is someone who is detail oriented, organized, and professional but likes to have fun. Flexibility to help with occasional weekends is appreciated. This is a great opportunity for someone looking for a long-term commitment (ideally several years) with a great family.
Experience Requirements
- 2 years minimum experience working as a Family Assistant with excellent verifiable references
Educational Requirements
- Fluency in English
Qualifications
- COVID-vaccinated + boosted (willing to update if requested)
- TB and Tdap vaccine
- CPR Certified
- Valid driver with clean record (family can provide household vehicle for work-related driving)
- Comfortable with a large dog, including pet care
- Flexible availability including occasional weekends

Responsibilities
- School pickups and after-school activity transport
- Help the kids stay on top of their responsibilities
- Errands and household vendor coordination (contractors, cleaners, ordering and putting away groceries, keeping household stocked with essentials)
- Dog care (walks/feeding) for their 95–100 lb mixed breed
- Coverage during family travel – checking in on the house, potentially dog sitting
- General household organization and light oversight of other staff
- Household laundry
- Simple meal prep/cooking for the family as needed
- Packing kids lunches for next day
- Light tidying/organizing
- Help kids pick up after themselves and be self-sufficient
