Position: TEMP Family Assistant Needed in San Mateo (February – end of June)
Schedule: Monday to Friday 2 PM to 6 PM (core hours needed; family can provide up to 30 hours starting earlier in the day for help with additional tasks)
Salary Amount or Range: $40-$45/hour D.O.E. + Standard benefits (sick days, holidays)
Children: 8, 13, and 15 years old
Pets: 1 x dog

Description

TEMP POSITION: early February – end of June

A family in San Mateo is seeking a TEMP family assistant while their current FA goes on maternity leave. They have three children ages 8 (boy), 13 (girl) and 15 (girl) years old. They mainly need help from 2 PM to 6 PM driving the kids to/from school and activities. Additional hours can be added for help with tasks such as laundry, cooking, light tidying, running errands, etc. The best person for them is warm, engaging, reliable and trustworthy.

Experience Requirements

• 2 years minimum experience working as a family assistant with excellent verifiable references

Educational Requirements

• Fluency in English

Qualifications

• TB and Tdap vaccine
• CPR Certified
• Valid driver with clean record (family can provide household car for work-related driving)
• Warm, engaging
• Experienced with school-age kids and teens
• Reliable
• Trustworthy
• Excellent communication

Responsibilities

• Driving the kids from 3-6 pm (priority)
• Homework help
• Engaging in activities

Additional hours available for the following tasks:

• Laundry for the kids and/or family
• Cooking simple dinners for the kids and/or family
• Scheduling camps
• Running errands: groceries, shopping for household
• Light tidying
• Fielding mom’s email – sorting activities, school-related items, birthday invites, etc.
