Job Overview:

Our wonderful long-term clients are seeking one experienced housekeeper/cleaner combined role to join their team. You would be responsible for full charge cleaning and laundry. This is a lovely, active family with 1 college and 2 middle school aged children (which the parents raise and supervise entirely themselves) in a multi-staffed home which includes an Estate Manager and Chef. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) working Monday to Friday. Schedule is flexible requiring 8 hours a day in between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., though the family’s ideal is 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. While a half-time version of this position would also be considered, there is no opportunity for extended hours or responsibilities available. The family values its “alone time” without staff in their home before 8 a.m. and after 6 p.m.

  • Vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping, cleaning, disinfecting floors, surfaces, bathrooms, bedrooms, hallways, living and common areas, etc.

  • Prepping, running, drying, sorting, folding, ironing and putting away all laundry a couple of times per day.
  • Making beds, changing towels and stocking closets with linen, towels and clothes on a daily basis.
  • Tidying and de-cluttering rooms and the house in general.
  • Loading, running and emptying the dishwashers and putting away dishes.
  • Assisting the chef in keeping the kitchen clean and safe of hazards before, during and after chef’s meal preparation.
  • Setting and clearing the table, sorting groceries, frozen meals and food storage and pantry items at the chef’s instruction.
  • Sorting the mail, shredding junk mail, opening packages, breaking down boxes, storing and tracking household supplies. Emptying trash bins and recycling.
  • Running errands to local stores only occasionally, only when the Estate Manager and Chef (who generally do them) are unavailable.
  • Rolling the garbage, compost and recycling bins up and down the driveway to the curb for their weekly pickups.

  • Three years prior housekeeping experience in a HNW private household.
  • Must be fluent in English, both in verbal and written communication (needs to be able to understand written instructions and write notes and texts, as well as speak).
  • Must have experience and enjoy serving in all these capacities (not just house cleaning and just housekeeping but both; including doing laundry daily, doing the dishes, moving garbage bins and assisting the chef).
  • Must be content in simply a housecleaner and housekeeper role within a 40-hour work week.
  • Must be fully vaccinated and boosted against Covid-19, show proof of vaccination and pass a comprehensive background check.
  • Must be comfortable around dogs and children, but will not need to care for them.
