Position: Trustworthy & Hands-on Family Assistant Needed in San Mateo (30 hours/week)
Schedule: Monday to Friday 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. (30 hours per week) + one date night a month (usually Thurs/Fri evening)
Salary Amount or Range: $40-$45/hour D.O.E. + Standard benefits (paid vacation, sick days, holidays)
Children: 2 and 6 years old

Description

A family in San Mateo with two busy working parents is seeking a warm, engaged, and hands-on family assistant to help with household tasks and care for their two children ages 2 (girl) and 6 (boy) years old. Responsibilities include running errands, meal prep and simple cooking for the family, light tidying and pet care, family laundry, school pick-up, engaging with the kids, and helping with after-dinner clean-up. They’d appreciate flexibility to babsit once a month for date nights and work occasional overnights when both parents are traveling. Ultimately they are looking for someone who can become a trusted partner in their household—helping create a calm, well-functioning home.

Experience Requirements

• 2 years’ experience working as a Family Assistant with excellent verifiable references

Educational Requirements

• Fluency in English

• Valid driver with clean record (family can provide a household care for work-related driving)

Responsibilities

• Running errands; grocery shopping
• Meal prep; preparing a simple nutrtious dinner for the family
• Pack kids’ lunches for the next day
• Help with school pick-up as needed
• Family laundry
• Light tidying and after-dinner clean-up
• Light pet care (feeding and a short walk)
• Occasional overnights when both parents traveling
• Evening date night (about once a month; usually a Thurs or Fri)
