Executive Housekeeper

Location: Atherton, CA (Transitioning primary residence to Saratoga, CA in Spring 2027)

Schedule: Full-Time | Monday – Friday | 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM (flexibility to 6:30 PM and Saturdays as needed)

Compensation: $65-$70/hr + 20% annual discretionary bonus

Position Overview

We are representing a private family of four in Atherton in seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Executive level Housekeeper to oversee the care and upkeep of their primary residence in Atherton and other home in Aptos. The ideal candidate possesses master-level expertise in luxury laundry, delicate natural fabrics (cashmere, silk, fine cottons), and non-toxic/eco-friendly cleaning protocols.

This role requires a discreet, proactive professional who thrives in a collaborative, team-based estate environment (working alongside a second housekeeper, private culinary team, and security staff). Flexibility to adapt to property transitions, travel prep, and seasonal rotations is essential.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of experience as a housekeeper in high-net-worth private estates with multiple staff.

Educational Requirements

Fluency in English

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge in the laundering, stain removal, and maintenance of cashmere, fine cottons, and delicate natural fabrics.

• Proficient in natural, chemical-free, and organic cleaning methods and products.

• Must successfully pass an extensive, strict background check and reference verification.

• High emotional intelligence, utmost discretion regarding family privacy, and a warm, service-oriented attitude.

• Willingness to work on Saturdays, flex hours during peak periods, and occasional holidays when the family is in residence. (Family travels often in winter and summers)

• Comfortable with dogs

Responsibilities

Executive Housekeeping & Care

• Maintain a pristine, museum-quality standard of cleanliness across primary and secondary residences.

• Implement and execute strictly non-toxic, chemical-free, eco-friendly household cleaning standards.

• Manage deep cleaning, daily tidying, surface care, and seasonal maintenance schedules.

• Coordinate seamlessly with the second housekeeper to divide and conquer daily tasks across properties.

Fine Garment Care & Fabric Expertise

• Provide specialized care for high-end wardrobes, delicate natural fibers, organic cottons, cashmeres, silks, and wools.

• Manage hand-washing, specialized line-drying, steam pressing, fine ironing, and garment storage.

• Oversee wardrobe seasonal organization, packing/unpacking for frequent domestic and international family travel, and closet rotation.

Multi-Property Support & Travel Readiness

• Maintain consistency and operational standards across Bay Area residences (including Atherton and Aptos beach house).

• Prepare the Aptos property for weekly weekend family stays.

Family & Pet Care Support

• Support a dynamic household with two children (infant and a 7-year-old on an alternating-week schedule).

• Provide daily care for the family’s dogs (Bernadoodle and Doberman mix, up to 5 dogs on occasion), including feeding and routine care.

• Collaborate professionally with in-house private chefs, estate security, and property managers.
